For 12 years there have been 2 of us, and soon there will be 3. It’s 1 AM and the contractions are getting closer together.
The time for Ellie’s heated, but increasingly small room, in Victoria’s belly is running out. She is trying to move around but has nowhere to go and her foot is usually pushing out of Victoria's right side most of the day.
It is all getting very exciting for me and Victoria can’t wait much longer. Every time my phone rings I am expecting some nervous words on the other end saying politely “come home now, it’s time”. Even Geoff and Rose, who kept telling us the first one is usually late, seem to change their minds this weekend and think Ellie will be early.
Ellie is getting larger and stretching Victoria’s belly. It is so tight. A few nights ago, Victoria was looking at last year’s calendar to double check how many weeks she has been pregnant. She can’t believe that Ellie has 2 weeks more of growing.
The appointment with the stand in midwife went well. Next appointment is Wednesday 16th.
After a long struggle and hundreds of photos I finally caught some movement. Enjoy!
Victoria and I have been busy finishing off the small list of things we need to do before Ellie arrives. Ellie now has a small table lamp in her room for nighttime feeds, baby monitors have been checked (played with), and bedding and baby clothing have been washed. Victoria has been gathering items for her hospital bag. I am procrastinating and haven’t started yet. I am making a list of phone numbers to take to the hospital and emails to send everyone the good news. If any of you have a certain number you wish us to call please send me an e-mail.
