We celebrated Christmas Eve at my parent’s house. Ellie sat at the kids table and ate dinner without any help (except Mason taking some of her food). After waiting what felt like forever, it was present time. Ellie ripped open her presents with Mum’s help. She finally settled on the floor with a toy duck in its plastic bag. She liked the sound the bag made and kept playing with it. It is still in the bag today, and she still enjoys it.
Jumping forward in my posts, yesterday was Ellie’s first time swimming in the ocean. I started her out in the water where she could sit and play, and then we moved into deeper water. She splashed, swam and took off her sun hat many times. The faces she made after tasting the salt water, many times, were humorous. Sorry no picture with this post!
Ellie loves to play with the nesting dolls on the table. She understands that there are smaller dolls inside and can take them apart. Putting them back together again is another story. At least, she knows that she can store raisins in them.
Before Christmas, Grandma and Granddad (my parents) took Ellie, Victoria, and I to Fashion Island to see the giant Christmas tree. On the way to the tree, we found a Carousel. Grandma, not only knew it was there, she had already bought tickets for Ellie. Ellie wasn’t too sure at first, and in the end I think Victoria enjoyed it more than she did.
Ellie, Victoria and I have made it safely back to New Zealand after our holiday travels. I will be catching up on the blog and all the Christmas pictures this week.
