Where's Ellie

I am told, this is another talent she gets from me!

Round and Round We Go

Ellie has mastered the roll and is creating trouble with every rotation. With all the rolling, she is getting much stronger and is determined to start crawling. She is trying hard to figure it out. Head up, bum up, arms and legs going, she just hasn’t connected them yet.

So Busted

Ellie was frustrated that the television was off and decided to take matters into her own hands.

Ellie Updates

Ellie is 5 months 15 days old and it seems like she has always been around. She has been on solids for 3 weeks. Her favorite is pear, with pumpkin coming in second. Strange how everything else ends up in her mouth, but bananas she can’t stand. She weights 7.3 kg (16.1 pounds). She is able to hold a sippy cup filled with water by herself, but not always with the correct end to her mouth.

Her selection of sounds is getting much larger, from high pitch singing only dogs can hear to growling like a monster. She likes Mummy’s singing and will sign along with her.

Daddy is playing a much more serious roll when it comes to Ellie's education. This week Ellie has learned how to give “Hi 5’s”. It was hard work, but it paid off.

Dad stop dressing me!

It was a cold morning in New Zealand and our house wasn’t much warmer. I didn’t want Ellie to be cold, so I started putting more and more cloths on her. Mummy and Ellie weren’t impressed.

Keep on Rolling

Victoria was very excited today when she looked at Ellie and realized that Ellie had rolled over from her back to tummy. When I came home, we placed Ellie on her back and she rolled over for me after 5 long minutes of waiting. I then gave her a bath to settle her down for bed time. She usually gets upset when we try to put her pjs on, so this time we placed her on the floor to dress her. She didn’t cry, but decided that it was time to show off. Rolling over twice before we could get her nappy on.

What a Pig!

This time it’s not Ellie we are talking about. Today, we were looking at a house in the country that had 2 rather large pigs. One of them is very friendly and wanted to say “OINK”. Ellie was fascinated by them and wanted a closer look. The pig in the pictures is named Penelope, just in case you were curious.

Still Drinking

Victoria never has a spare moment with Ellie around. She doesn’t stop eating or drinking. Megan, in the picture to the left, took this picture of Victoria and Ellie. We were hoping to go to the zoo with Brenton, Megan and their boys Max and Reuben but it didn’t stop raining. We ended up staying at their house for lunch.

Tummy Time

Ellie is trying hard to crawl. She can push her upper body up and off the floor. The movement of her legs is very similar to crawling but she is not up on her knees. When she tries both at the same time she ends up like a turtle on its back. Her arms and legs go into the air and she is grounded by her belly.

Bumbo anyone?

Ellie was trying out her new Bumbo seat for the first time Saturday morning. She was very surprised to find herself sitting up without Mummy or Daddy’s support. Thanks Aunt Cindy and Uncle Dan!
