Basket Ellie

Ellie was playing quietly in her room the other morning, and this is how I found her.

She loves playing with her dolls and other stuffed animals.  She makes up stories, feeds, bathes, comforts, dances with them.  We have story time at night where she makes up a story with the stuffed toys and we sit quietly and listen.

Napping in Bed

She woke up early, way too early, and when the afternoon arrived, Ellie desperately needed a nap.  We were able to get her to take her nap in her bed, which doesn’t happen much anymore.  We didn’t want her to sleep to long, so after 30 minutes I went to wake her up.  Camera in hand, I was able to take 2 pictures before Ellie figured out what was going on and started to make funny faces.

Big Boat

Ellie and her friend were testing the boat for the upcoming trip to the lake.  They played house, popped their head out of top hatch, and tested there driving skills.  We hope the weather will be nice enough for us to use the boat as it is still winter here.

Plaster (Band-Aid)

Poor Ellie cut her finger the other day while pulling out a tall piece of grass that she was going to use to tickle herself.  It didn’t seem to bother her when she cut it or after, but she did need the plaster on for two days (her idea not ours).

Taking this picture posed a challenge in itself.  Ellie was happy for me to take a picture of her plaster, but insisted that I take a picture of the hand without the plaster also.  I ended up with at least 12 pictures of the other hand and only 2 of the hand/finger I wanted.

Suprise

Ellie and I were playing outside in her playground, swinging, pointing out the broken trampoline, playing with rope, and hiding from each other.  I surprised her with the camera and quickly took the picture.  This picture is the first in a long time that you see Ellie being Ellie.

Artistic Ellie

Ellie is enjoying art time with Mummy.  She colours, cuts, pastes, sticks, tears, and paints. While these projects are always messy, Ellie is excited by the finished results and loves to show them off.  Here is one of Ellie’s paintings.

Why is the trampoline there?

Ellie and I were sitting down to breakfast a few weeks ago, when I noticed the trampoline out the window.  This wouldn’t be a problem if that was where we placed it or even if it was on our property but it wasn’t.  During the stormy and windy night, the trampoline went airborne and flew over our 4 foot fence, dropped a few parts then lifted off again jumping a 6 foot tall deer fence landing in our neighbor’s paddock.

The trampoline is back in Ellie’s play area, but not looking very good.  Hopefully it stays dry this weekend and I will see if it can be repaired.

Unders

Ellie was helping herself to cloths on the drying rack and happened to put on some of Daddies “unders”.  There’s never a dull moment with Ellie around.

Ellie’s First Photo

Thanks to Ellie’s nephews for giving her one of their digital cameras, which is made for very young photographers.  This is the first picture she took.
