Catching a Rainbow

Ellie was fascinated with the rainbow that the mirrored closet door creates close to bed time.  She will point it out, ask both of us to come and see the rainbow and even try to jump over it.  A few nights ago, Ellie and I tried to catch the rainbow in our hands.  While this took some time to solve, she figured out where to place her body and hand to catch it.

Worms

Whenever Ellie is helping with projects outside, she always asks to see a worm.  She likes to hold them and will take them to Mummy to show her.  In the past worms have enjoyed the slide, swings, and rides in the trolley.

Play-Doh

Noodles, worms, the letter E, and all sorts of animals get created in Play-Doh at our house.  Ellie can roll out the Play-Doh, use the shapes and the Fun Factory all by herself. Once her shapes are created she is very excited to show them off.

Birthday Party

Ellie celebrated her third birthday with a large group of her friends in an amazing party (Thanks Victoria!) that was themed fairies and frogs.  They all have morning tea in Ellie’s playroom and then ran around the house and backyard to burn off some energy.  Ellie and some friends decided to raid Ellie’s room and try on many different clothing combinations.  Ellie and a friend decided that swim attire was appropriate and pretended that the grass was a large swimming pool.  That’s when they found the mud and started to run and jump in it.  Good thing the cake came soon after their discovery or they would have been covered head to toe in the mud.

Introducing Gogglie Fish

Gogglie Fish, is a birthday present from Victoria and I to Ellie and named by Ellie.  Why Gogglie, because it’s eyes stick out of its head and they look like goggles.   Before Ellie’s birthday we took her to the fish store to get everything she needed.  She picked out the colour of rock and the plants for the tank.  We then set everything up and tested the water twice daily to prepare for the arrival of gogglie fish on her birthday.  Ellie really wanted a black gogglie fish, but they were all sick, so she came home with an orange one.  Hopefully in the next few weeks we can introduce a black one to Ellie’s tank.
