Rain Camping

It appeared that Mother Nature didn’t know our plans for camping or she just wanted to test our tent’s performance in the wind and rain.

We went camping with another couple and one of Ellie’s best friends to our normal location.   From jumping in large puddles to playing assorted games in the tent while drying off just to go out and get wet again, the girls didn’t let the rain stop them from having fun.

Happy Easter

Ellie, Victoria, and I wish everyone a Happy Easter!

Ellie went on an Easter egg hunt with a friend this morning.  This was their first egg hunt and they had a blast running all around the yard finding the eggs.  They resorted to some long sticks and a rake to get the eggs out of the trees.  Both girls were excited to learn how high the Easter Bunny could jump.  Afterword, they sorted their eggs and shared the rewards.

In the top picture Ellie is holding a real egg that was placed in her basket very soon after the chicken had laid it and the egg was still warm.

This post skips ahead of the many post I am behind.

Kicking the Ball

We have been teaching Ellie to kick the ball either to us or across the yard.  She will usually get a couple of good kicks in and then start rolling on the ball.  At that point, the game turns into chasing Ellie with the ball, or watching Ellie roll around with the ball.

Introducing Gogglie 2

Gogglie 1 has a new friend to swim with around the plants and through the tunnel in the fish tank.  Gogglie 2 is the black fish that Ellie originally wanted, but was sick when she went to the fish store to get the first Gogglie.  Ellie was very excited to get a second fish and wanted to hold it while we drove home.  Everyone made it home safely and Gogglie2 is happy in his new home.

Elephant Needed Shoes!

Who would have known that for Elephant to come with us in the car he needed to wear shoes?  Ellie must have been proud of the shoes on the elephant as she asked me to take this picture.

Enjoying Nature

Ellie took a little time out from all the kids at a birthday party and sat quietly by herself in the tall grass.  This was after her and a boy started to climb the fence.  She picked a few flowers and handed them to Mummy and I to smell.

Face Painting

Ellie attended a birthday part where all the kids had the chance to get their faces painted.  Ellie had wanted to do this on a few occasions in the past but she never got the chance.  This time it was different and Ellie couldn’t wait for her turn.  She told the face painter that she wanted to be a dog, while most of the other kids were fairies and pirates.

All Aboard

The little people were leaving on a grand adventure and needed to take the train.  The train started out as one box with a few people in it.  Soon the people didn’t just fit in a single box and then Ellie formed the train with enough boxes for most of the little people and their pets. I never did find out their destination.
