Race – Wild Animals

On the last day of our race holiday, we went to a wild animal park.  It was a beautiful location, with animals and fish that all the kids could feed.  The most exciting activity was petting the lion cubs.  I was so excited and told Ellie that this was the first time that either Mummy or daddy were able to pet a lion.  To her this wasn’t that big of deal and she was more excited to go feed the deer and fish.

Race – Bubbling Mud

There is a lot of thermal activity around Rotorua.  Ellie always complains about the smell but was happy to run around with the boys looking at all the bubbling mud.  There really wasn’t much looking, more like chasing each other around the park and hiding in the bushes.

Traveling for a Race

This has been the year for family races.  This time we traveled four hours south for a race and a short holiday.  We went with good friends (two families) and there were a total of 8 kids.  Ellie didn’t race this time but we returned a month later and both Victoria and Ellie were racing.   Ellie was the only girl, other than a baby, and did very well with all the boys.

Early Easter

Before Grandma and Granddad headed back to LA, Ellie and Cooper were surprised with an early Easter basket.  Ellie took inventory of all the yummy chocolate and lollies.  Cooper watched her closely to make sure he didn’t miss out on any treats.  Then they both sampled a few pieces and we read their new book.  Cooper didn’t want to stop at a few pieces and was unhappy when the chocolate disappeared.

Light Painting

Ellie and a friend were attempting to paint with light.  They tried all different shapes from hearts to happy faces.  Now that Ellie understands what can be created, we will have to try this again!

Flower Bulbs

Ellie was very excited when Grandma and Granddad brought some bulbs to plant.  We found the perfect place that gets lots of sun and is by the slide.  We can also see them clearly from Cooper’s window.  Ellie help plant and Cooper tried digging with the shovel.
