Cookies!

I found a recipe for Salted Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies that looked and sounded so good, we had to make them.  After purchasing all the ingredients and mentioning the word Cookie to the kids, we set off to make them.   Ellie and Cooper put on their aprons and got to work.  Cooper helped me brown the butter as Ellie put all of the dry ingredients in a bowl.  She read and measured all by herself!  Then we had to wait an hour while the cooled down before we could continue.  Perfect time for some pictures and play for the kids.  Then Ellie helped make all the cookie balls and carefully placed the salt flakes on each cookie before I put them into the oven.

These cookies turned out incredible!  We had made them again a few times.  If you want the recipe go to:    http://whatsgabycooking.com/salted-brown-butter-chocolate-chip-cookies/

Skateboarding

Ellie’s skateboarding skills are improving.  She doesn’t have to hold my hands when she is riding the skateboard down the ramp.  She still struggles to get herself moving when standing and now asks for help riding without me suggesting she try the skateboard.

This picture is one of my fun, trick pictures that I took with a group of kids and dads at the skate park.

Night Light

Ellie has some new Little Bits modules.  We have been making different project together and learning what each one can do.  I challenged Ellie to make a night light from her Little Bits pieces that will turn off automatically.  After a few minutes, she was proud to show off her creation.  When you press the button the bright LED turns on and starts a timer that will turn off the LED after a few minutes.

Cooper is now starting to use her Little Bits modules.  He likes the ones that make sounds.
If you haven’t seen these before check out their website: http://littlebits.cc/   .
