Ellie, Mummy and I braved a few rain showers and went to the zoo today. We were able to see the baby giraffe and the new alligators for the first time. The highlight was us was walking from the elephant enclosure, with missing elephant to the next set of animals when around the corner we saw the elephant and the trainers walking on the path right towards us. There was no one else around, so we back up 15 paces and moved to the side to see the elephant walk past at very close range. To our surprise, the trainer stopped the elephant and came up to us. He gave Ellie, who was in my arms; a quarter of an apple and the elephant used its large trunk to gently grab the apple out of her hands and ate it. Ellie wasn’t sure about the whole thing, but she also had no idea to be afraid. Then Mummy and I were given a part of the apple and also fed the elephant. Talk about perfect timing!
No pictures of the zoo today, sorry.
