Peeking around the corner

This is how I found Ellie the other morning while I was cleaning up.  She acquired Daddy’s hat, laid out her “working” mats, and set off to work on one of her educational games.  If you look closely you can see that different colour rings are stacked together.  When I came back 10 minutes later her games were put back on the shelf with all the rings in the correct order and her working mat was put away. 

Ellie’s Reading Nook

Victoria, being the super mum that she is, created this comfortable area for Ellie to sit and read or feed her baby.   This is also where Daddy and Ellie sit, cover in blankets with Moxy and Ox, at 6:15 in the morning to read while we wait for the sun to come up and the heater to start heating down stairs.

Climbing

Swinging is not the only place Ellie likes to go higher.  She is getting much better at climbing up and finally knows how to climb down.  She hasn’t figured out how to swing her leg over the fence yet, but it is only a matter of time.  I hope that she can wait a little longer so the ground can soften with the rain before she tries.

Like every kid, Ellie loves to swing.  It doesn’t matter if it is a rope, a baby swing, a big girl swing, or a tire. What does matter is she needs to go high, higher than Mummy or Daddy will push her!

Most kids only dream of having a personal playground, but not Ellie.  This was our Christmas holiday project and thanks to our neighbor and family for helping put this together.  Ellie and her friends have been enjoying the playground and I am sure it will continue to get plenty of use.

Daddy's Work

Last Monday, Ellie went on a field trip to my work.   She was busy helping me type out an email.

She also helped Alana do a little colouring on the Baselight.  (She actually crashed the system once, also)  She was not very talkative when I was around, but Alana told me later that Ellie talked a lot when I left.
